Brinley (7) and Tanner (3) celebrated birthdays in September. Parker is anxiously awaiting November. (It will be on Thanksgiving Day this year.) We meet each Sunday night at my parents house , along with siblings and their families. This is just a fun way for everyone to visit and cousins to enjoy each other. Anyway, usually on the first Sunday of the month we have a family party for all who have a b-day that month. So for Tanner, we called it good after that b-day celebration.
For Brinley Kate, we had a party at our home again this year. About 10 children came to enjoy root beer floats (Bryn's request), a balloon popping relay, red rover and a pinata. Brinley, Parker and Tanner were all very excited about the Pinata. Park had one last year at his party...but I found it on clearance for $2.50. So, when all of the kiddos started deciding a pinata was the coolest thing to have at a b-day party...I started to panic. Especially after spending $20 on the pinata this year and about that much on candy to fill it...I just can think of a lot of other things I'd rather do with $40!!) I decided to limit the tradition before it got out of hand. We (me and the kiddos) agreed that they would have two b-day parties with a pinata...now and when they are 10. So...we'll see how that works out!
