Prom

Tanner was not super into the whole prom thing.  He waited too long to rent a tux, and we had to buy a suit.  ($75 vs over $300...UGH)   He also waited until the week of prom to ask his girlfriend....poor Erin.  They both knew they were going together, but still.  (insert face palm)

He did come up with a really cute "promposal."  He made a poster that said: Blowing up all these balloons took my breath away and so do you!  Prom?  

Most days they eat lunch at our house.  When she came over, my job was to visit with her a couple of minutes while he got set up in the playroom and then take pictures.  Her reaction was adorable.

Here are a few pictures from the actual night.  She looked gorgeous, and he looked good in his new suit.

I think her dress is beautiful, and I'm glad she found one she loved.  (She is about 5 months along here- due the end of July.)

Erin was on Jr. Board this year and one of their main responsibilities is prom.  She worked hard all year raising money and selling tickets.  Then on the weekend of prom she had to help decorate and then clean up.  They did a great job with the theme and decor.

Tate Terry and Tanner.  I'm so glad they took this picture.  These guys were good friends at Nimitz.  They played soccer and football together and hung out at each other's houses quite a bit.  They were in choir together also causing all sorts of mischief.  (Honestly, mischief is probably too kind of a word.  Trouble.  They were trouble.)  Our families are good friends, and it's fun to see these two handsome young men together.  

Tanner said they didn't dance once.  When I expressed my surprise and disappointment, he defensively remarked, "Well, I didn't want to, and she didn't ask me."  Oh Tanner.  This kid is stubborn and somewhat clueless, but we love him.  He does have a really good heart.  Sometimes he just likes to have a tough exterior.  (See the picture below for that example.)  Erin seems to understand him well, and he laughs and smiles a lot when they are together.  They really do make a cute couple.
