Sunday Mornings before Church

We have afternoon church right now and so we have quite a bit of time in the morning before 1:00 rolls around.  Brian has Sunday morning meetings and usually leaves around 10:00.   Sometimes Brian and/or I play Uno Attack with the kids.  The kids and I will often walk with Buttercup to my parents and visit.  (They live about 1/2 mile away.)  Often the kids get creative and play together.  They will put on a show, play "store," or build forts.  One in the afternoon leaves alot of the morning to fill up!
This morning the kids were so cute.  They had a band and they were busy.  Parker was the guitarist and Tanner was the drummer.  They dreamed about combining their money and buying a drum set.  (Help Me!)  Brinley and Aubrey found their fancy microphones and joined in from time to time.
The final hour before church is always the most hectic.  I think I have planned enough time.  Usually the kids are dressed, fed, brushed and mostly ready, and I am making a mad scramble to get my hair done, dress on and lesson materials gathered.  I had to stop today and take a few pictures.  We were 3 minutes late to church, but I wanted to capture the moment.  So adorable.
The boys were writing and rehearsing their songs in their matching suits.  Parker begged Tanner to wear one of his old suits so they could match.  He had to roll up the sleeves and pant legs....but they are looking so handsome.  Also, please note their drum equipment: the two chairs and wooden spoons.

Brinley was counting her tithing as well as helping with Aubrey and Tanner's.  With popsicle sales, that is alot of change to sort through!  (Brian and I have heard some friendly grumbling from our loving Bishopric members when the kids turn in their weighted tithing envelopes.)

Aubrey is in the stage where she likes accessories!  Notice her necklace and purse.  She has a ton of little girl jewelry and she is usually decked out.  She also wanted to give a note to somebody, anybody, at church.  So we had to stop the forward last minute momentum to find a notecard and envelope.  (Sometimes it is worth stopping that momentum to have a happy child....leads to a happier time during Sacrament meeting and a happier mom at Sacrament meeting!)

All in all, a good Sunday morning before church.
