We had some pretty hot weather last week. It was in the high 80s or low 90s for about five days straight. To mix things up from mostly just hanging out inside our home, we decided to try swimming at Gram and Gramp's pool. (Bryn didn't join. She was working on school.)
It was FREEZING.
Parker and Tanner made a bet. If Tanner could make the long shot into the hoop from the diving board 2 out of 5 times, then Parker would have to jump in the frigid pool. If Tan missed, then he would have to jump in.He missed and took off running for the back gate. I think he was planning on just running home, but Parker took off after him. Tanner was corralled back to the poolside and thrown in. He came up gasping while his body adjusted to the cold water.
I slowly waded in up to my waist and eventually got used to it. Parker was the pro. Once he decided to walk in, he just calmly walked down the steps and right into the deeper part of the water. We were all impressed. He said it's from all of the ice baths he has to takes during football. He just tapped the side of his forehead and said, "mind over matter."
He also did a couple of Gainers off the diving board.
This one was a little low but still pretty cool.
Just about the time Aub and I were adjusted and happy, the boys were ready to leave.
It was nice to be outside for a little while and have a change of scenery.
