The Gwilliam Fam: July 4th Weekend Fun

On the July 4th weekend, we had several family gatherings, and it was so much fun. My cousin, Dani Linde Ebright, drove in with part of her family from Utah. She is vivacious and laughs easily. She's fun to be around. She and her sister Laurel dropped by to visit my parents. My dad had an appointment scheduled so he wasn't home. There was a caregiver at the house and she had to call me for backup. My mom was having so much fun with her guests, she wasn't letting them leave!

It was pretty cute. If my cousin, Laurel King, stood up, my mom would walk over and put her hands on her shoulder and sit her right back down. My mom also wanted to get all the snacks and drinks out to take care of the group. I had just finished my workout, so I was a sweaty mess, but had a great time visiting with the group. We also got to see them at the 4th of July gatherings.

We gather as a family every Sunday night. Usually we are just sitting inside and visiting and snacking. However, since teens from three families all had Covid the week before, we decided to meet outside to keep it safer for Gram and Grandpa. I loved it. It was blazing hot, but fun to be in the Birds backyard and shop.

We stopped by to visit Gram and Gramp. Just my little baby on my lap...

We had a lunch time 4th of July swim and barbeque. Dani found this little corner on the patio and sat down to leave the chairs for the "old" people. Then she realized We Are The Old People! It was fun to see the groups change throughout the gathering. Everyone mingled and there were lots of different cousins, aunts and uncles in differents spots all afternoon. Lauron, Ella, Ashley King, Aubrey and Danielle King (in red, white and blue)

The elementary and middle school kids spent a ton of time on the diving board. Hud is jumping off.

Later that evening we headed over to the Bird's for fireworks. They always put on a great show and are very generous in inviting family and friends to join in the fun. This year the neighbors caddy corner to their backyard were doing fireworks at the same time so it was a doubly amazing night....and we didn't even have to swivel our heads to see both shows.
