June 2024

In June, I was able to spend about a week in my sister Becky's home.  I was recovering from a procedure, and she took THE BEST care of me.  I loved seeing a little glimpse into their home life that week.  The kids were happy and helpful.  They were busy crafting and playing board games and going to summer camps.  A couple of evenings Brian, Beck and the kids were all curled up in their living room watching a movie together.  Pretty sweet.

A taste of Crumbl Cookie delivered to my bedside!

Other June happenings....Girls camp at Lake Brownwood for Aubrey.  This was her last year as a YCL (youth camp leader.)  She worked her tail off and survived.  It's good to serve.  Ang was one of the YCL leaders.  She asked me to teach the girls ASL to their theme song.  I also made the shirts and aprons.  It was nice to be involved and really nice that it was on such a doable level.  (Ang was swamped!)
Aub & her sweet friend Tori at girls camp.

Taco Villa Monday on Wednesday at Texas Burger Summer Style.  It's happening.  We had this big round table and two booths on either side.

Girls table!  Brit, Megan & I mentioned several times how we SCORED with this placement.  So calm and quiet in our little booth with just Gracie.

In June, my brother-in-law's mother passed away unexpectedly.  We were all very sad for Adam and his family.  One sweet part was seeing my siblings come together to try to love and support.  Nate and Becky flew in from Dallas for the service.  Ang, Beck and I helped organize and serve a small luncheon in the Bird's shop.  This picture was snapped at the funeral home at the viewing.  (Just missing Chris who came a bit later.)

Gram and Gramp stopped by for a visit one morning.  Love to see Mom snuggled up with her guy.

These next two pictures are Epic!  Gram decided to lead the music during sacrament, and it was the cutest thing.  Luckily she is at the back of the chapel, so it wasn't too distracting.  I did hear a visitor whisper "I like that sister!"

Aubrey made her #1 Dad shirt for a dress up day at school a year or two ago, and Brian always teases her about wanting to wear it.  So this year, she made him one to match.  Happy Father's Day to Brian.  He is an awesome dad: supportive, encouraging, helpful, funny, wise, hard working and more.

We had a pool party at the Vore's to celebrate La's graduation, welcome home from Utah and b-day.

The Dream Team Reunion!  This is our original Stake Relief Society presidency.  I love these women.  We met up for gelato and visiting when Marci came through town.  It was so fun to see Marci two month's in a row.

Laura, Heather & I are still in the Odessa Stake Presidency, and Marci is now serving as RS presidency in her ward in Wyoming.

I'm so happy for Laura and her decision to take out her endowments.  It was nice to be in the temple together.
