School Shopping

These two cousins are planners.  Aubrey and Lauron don't start school until the last day of August but they already made arrangements with Grandpa to go school shopping.  Every year he takes the grand kids to get their back to school supplies...it's THE BEST!  They talked to him one Sunday night towards the end of July and made plans to go out the following week.

Lauron started an online program, Liahona, in January and with the craziness of trying to plan for all of the possible scenarios during the pandemic, we decided to try it for Aubrey as well.

It was kind of weird trying to come up with a list for what we might need for online home schooling, but the girls had plenty of ideas.  They were thinking cute planners, cool pens, pretty folders, desk organizers, and new shoes and socks....they definitely came up with a list.  Sorry Grandpa.  And thank you as well for making a new school year something to look forward to even more each year.

The past few years, Gram has joined on most of the shopping trips, and she was able to come this time.  I love this picture that Grandpa snapped of his girls heading out to the car after the big Target trip.
They picked up Chic-Fil-A and headed to our house to eat it.  Then they sorted, labeled and showed off their loot!
A week later, Aubrey and I were making a quick stop at Target on our way home from the gym.  We ran into Gram, Gramp and the Birds wrapping up their school shopping trip!
Parker and Tanner are a little harder to work around for school shopping.  They start in eleven days though so I guess we better start coordinating while school supplies aren't too picked through.

Thank you Gram and Granpa.  We appreciate this awesome tradition on many levels!

Just for fun...here are some links to past school shopping trips with Grandpa:

*Parker and Tanner were able to go on August 4th.  It was the night before Brinley flew out and  Gram and Grandpa had our whole family over for dinner.  So nice!  Here are a few pictures:
