I love having Bryn home for the MTC. She's a busy girl. We don't see her much. When we do get a hug and a hear about parts of her day, it's the best! I called her Sister G. in front of the boys recently, and they busted up laughing. I guess maybe that made them think about Grandma Gwilliam. That is what Grandpa calls her sometimes, and I was stealing her name. I think it is very cute and fitting though.
She leaves in a few days, and I am starting to get a little pit in my stomach. I know it is a temporary pit, but I will miss this girl so much. Here are a few pictures from the past week and a half.
Lft-rt: Sister Gabby Martinez, Sister Brinley Gwilliam, Elder Marc Wolfley, President Vore, Nico Crisinger, Elder Sean Gray, Elder Jake Ross, Elder Kramer Smith, Elder Peter Mourick, and Tate Colson |
I made and sent out the invitations. Erin helped with the dessert, and President Vore hosted and led the discussion. Because I was serving, I was able listen in on their mini conference. President Vore led them in looking up scriptures about the spirit and helping those they teach realize when they have already felt the spirit as they have been learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also gave the missionaries an opportunity to share what they have been learning from the MTC and ask question to him or each other.
I think the gathering was successful. It was fun to see the missionaries and soon to be missionaries interacting. I loved seeing the strength of these youth in our stake all in one place one last time.
Gotta social distance and wear those masks...is this really life in 2020?
This is Brinley's MTC district and one of her teachers. They were sending their teacher some goldfish love on his last day of teaching at the MTC.I love peaking in on Sister G in the mornings before I go to workout. It's the only time I really peak in because it is before her classes start. She is always diligently doing personal study. I get a little hug and get to see her cute missionary attire and sometimes our paths won't cross again until 6:30 for dinner. (She is also wearing the new dress Gram and Grandpa ordered for her a week ago.)
Crazy girl is trying a grilled cheese and jelly sandwich in this photo.
She often practices the piano on breaks. I was surprised to see her in pants. She looked sleek. She said it was kind of nice to change it up. A couple of times she has headed over to Gram and Grandpa's and practiced over there.Hanging out with the fam in the evening...how luck is that for having your missionary training at home?!
Plus lots of hugs from adoring family members...and little chats with your not so little brother. (Parker was very kind and gave up his room so Brinley could have more space and light during her MTC experience. She mentioned the other day how she couldn't imagine doing it from the little office all day, everyday.) More Parker lov'in
We grabbed Torchy's for one last official family treat together. Brinley's companion told her she HAD to have it or they weren't really companions. Bryn and I went to pick it up and it took forever. We went in when it was light and left with our to go meal almost an hour later. Ugh...but at least they are still companions!

Our last week at church together. We brought this cute family, Edith and Aldrich, from the Philippines. They have been stuck here 4 1/2 months due to Covid-19.
During one of Brinley's short breaks from class, she snuggled with Tanner while he played Xbox and talked smack like he loves to do. (He went on about how good his team was. How he knew she wanted to watch his amazing Xbox skills. How she was going to miss him so much, but he wouldn't be missing her and so on.)We love you Sister G. We are so blessed to have had you home during your online training!
