Temple Trip with Our Girl

We were able to fly up to Idaho to go with Brinley to the temple.  It was a wonderful and unique experience.  She is so happy on her mission and seeing her apartment and with her companion was pretty cool.  I loved giving that girl a big hug numerous times.

Of course, we know when you are trying to get to the temple complications arise.  Our luggage only made it to Dallas, but with lots of Southwest help, we were able to get it by 11 pm on Wednesday night.  Brinley had a sore throat that seemed to be getting worse each day.  She was panicked in not wanting to spread anything at the temple.  Grandpa put all of our names on the temple roll and everything worked out just fine for our Thursday temple day.

Brinley has been waiting to get her endowment out since March.  We thought we were going to have that opportunity when we went up to Provo for spring break, but her call came on Tuesday and we left on Thursday.  (Her stake president wanted her to have her mission call before she interviewed for her recommend.)    She came home and interviewed with the bishop and stake president here.  It was during a scary part of Covid because the disease was so unknown.  We decided we didn't want to risk getting the sweet, elderly temple workers sick.  She had months until her mission so we were hopeful things would open back up.  Then temples were totally shut down.  Anyway...she left on her mission with the temples still being closed.

On Thursday, October 8th at 1:30 we were able to go to the Meridian, Idaho temple with her.  The best!  Also, Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam made the 15 hour drive up to Idaho to be there with us, and Kris and Eric (Bri's brother and sister in law) were able to come as well.  She was able to invite one companionship and so her MTC companion, Sister Hyatt (and her comp) were able to come as well.

Can't you just feel the joy/happiness/spirit emanating from this girl?
We picked Brinley up in Garden City and then stopped by Kris and Eric's house to meet up with the group before going to lunch.  Jack and Henry (11 and 9) were just walking in from school.  It was fun that she got to see them.
