October 26-31, 2020

I've been working on Santa sack orders and posting some of my other products.  I have also been working on finishing up our 2019 Shutterfly family album.  I am almost done.  Almost done as in probably 4-5 hours left...but still!  It's such a labor of love and making photo albums is so time consuming.  However, it's so nice when we have them available.  Last week the boys told me the only time they ever look at them is when they are grounded from their phones.  Well, let the grounding begin.

Parker had the pin removed from is toe and is slowly beginning to practice with the team again.  He is out of the boot and hobbling around better everyday.

After being quarantined for two weeks, Tanner had flipped his choice on doing school remotely.  He is ready to head back full time.  The only problem is when I had to tell the district if they were staying home or going back for this 6 weeks, he told me staying home.  He says he doesn't care and the teachers don't care and he will be going to school in person.  That works for me.  I guess this week we will see if it really works for the teachers.

It's so nice to have Brian back in our lives.  He is out of his bedroom isolation and mingling with the family.  We've missed that guy.  He is a peacemaker and also adds the lightheartedness to our family.  (I'm a little high strung at times....what can I say?)  Aubrey actually snuggled me some when her daddy wasn't available--huge miracle.  He is gaining back his strength everyday.  He has worked some in the garage, run some errands, and made dinner three times this week.  He is back to work tomorrow.

Aubrey is rocking the grades in her history class.  Her teacher wrote her a separate email letting her know she was the only student who had a solid A at this point.  He also told her because of all of the amazing projects she has turned in, she could do nothing else the rest of the semester and be just fine.  She has the stomach bug today and didn't make it to church.  However, when she was up and feeling pretty good, she was working on another history project!

Halloween didn't happen much for us around here.  There was no ward trunk or treat although they had a little Primary activity.  This is the first year in forever we haven't been involved in the trunk or treat in some way.  Tan, Brian and I just stayed home.  With Covid, I didn't even buy any candy or turn on the porch light.  Aubrey had a Wednesday night YW Halloween party and a Saturday night Harry Potter party with a few friends.  Parker went to a friend gathering.  His costume cracked me up.

He has shorts on under there...promise...they are just his usual short shorts.

Lastly, we love talking to our girl every Monday.  She is working so hard and loving her time as a missionary.  It's nice being able to picture her apartment/living space, and I love that we have met her companion.  Here are a couple of pictures from our phone chat.  She and Brian started playing with the settings a little.

And just for fun, here is Sister Gwilliam's email from last week. October 26, 2020
Hey eveyone! Hope everyone's weeks were good - mine was pretty great but also cold and apparently it only goes down hill from here...pray for me.

This week we saw soooo many miracles. But I figured I'd share my top 3:)

1) A couple of months ago a lady named Diana called us and wanted to meet, but the day of our appointment she canceled. We haven't been able to reach her since, so honestly we kinda forgot about her😅 but then Thursday as we were eating dinner Diana called us out of the blue, asked if we were the missionaries, told us her address, asked us to come by every Sunday,  then she immediately hung up. We were kinda in shock haha but it was a huge miracle for us.

2)  We were walking to our appointment to meet a couple people who expressed interest in attending church. We knocked and no one answered, but as we walked back to our car, a lady in the ward who we've gotten really close to ran out of her door basically straight into us. She seemed really upset but invited us in. We talked for a while and then as we got up to leave she said she had been running out of her door to get a cigarette from her neighbor.

She has been trying to quit smoking for years now, and the fact that she ran into us when she was reaching for a cigarette is a huge miracle! At the time we didn't know why our appintment had to fall through, but I know that God took that disappointment and used it to help his daughter who needed a little extra motivation to overcome her addiction.

3)Sister Maycock's back has been hurting her really bad for the past couple of weeks. To the point where she can barely stand sometimes. On Thursday we had an all day meeting, and she was really concerned because sitting down for long periods of time usually makes it worse. Right before the meeting she prayed that her back would be manageable for the conference.

After the conference she told me she felt almost no pain at all until after the closing prayer. This was a huge miracle because she has been in almost constant pain for a long time. (She is improving but could definitely use extra prayers!)

Guys miracles are there if you look for them! And honestly if you think about it, the fact that you're able to see this message off of your device right now is a miracle - both because you were fortunate enough to get an education to be able to read it and to have the technology to receive it. If you have food and shelter right now - that's a miracle! We're in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and the economy is crazy. The fact that you're still blessed enough to have those things is huge. Your family is a miracle. Your health is a miracle.

There are so many miracles.

I challenge yall to look for the miracles in your life, even if they've been there are along. I know that when we give Heavenly Father the credit for the "little miracles" then it becomes easier to see the greater ways that he blesses our life each day.

(ALSO if you need anyone else to pray for - pray for Gage and Jamie!! We're teaching them and they are really really searching for truth, and I know they'd appreciate any extra prayers that they can find it for themselves. Andddd if you're looking for more prayer ideas I can definitely give you a mini list😉)

Quotes of the week:
Me: "Does anyone know any of the 10 commandments?"
Little boy: "Yes!! Listen to your parents, don't steal, and thou shalt not kiss!"

Member: "we hope you guys stay healthy and well!"
Sister Maycock: "We do to you... too"

*overheard at a member dinner*
"Stop doing that!"
"Or what?"
"I'll pet your sideburns"

*also at a member dinner*
*Awkward silence*
Sister Maycock: So...um..have you ever seen a peacock in real life before??

( Poor Sister Maycock panicked and that was the first thing that came into her head😂😂 You don't know how hard it was for me to keep a straight face. I was in actual physical pain hahaha)
Picking grapes with Lois Ward!! (Her husband was my grandpa's best friend growing up)
Lunch with the Statons
Service changing out Christmas light bulbs
Temple pictures for a Sister's conference
