It was great to catch up with Parker after our trip, and it was also really fun to have Bryn home and able to jump on the calls for the entire time. (Winter semester she had a busy Monday schedule so she would make an appearance but not be able to visit long on most Mondays.)
Isn't he so handsome? I see that big smile and just need one of his big hugs to go with it.
This picture is kind of crazy. On a p-day, he walked out of a building and this guy with the UTPB shirt was walking outside. UTPB is our small university in Odessa so it's crazy that a shirt wound up in Ghana.I requested a picture for Mother's Day. We may have been a minute or two late to Sacrament meeting, but it was worth it.
Aub made me this cute parfait bar for breakfast.
Brinley and I took Gram a little Mother's Day gift. (It was mostly treats for her trip to the doctor in Dallas.)
Brian gave me a gift card to get a massage and made us a delicious flank steak dinner for the family. Erin Flores, Tanner's girlfriend, gave me the beautiful bouquet. It was so unexpected and sweet. We gave her a pretty candle and a card. Parker posted pictures with a sweet message on FB. The kids each wrote me beautiful cards with specific things they appreciated.
How cute is this? Aub took a Polaroid of us to put in the card.
All in all I felt loved and celebrated on Mother’s Day.
The Martins are moving to Utah. It's kind of hard to imagine Odessa without them. They will be missed. (Emily, Dave, Bri and Erin)
We were so glad Brinley got to stay nine days longer after the cruise.Tanner not cooperating with pictures...as usual...turkey boy.
Brinley and I were able to go to the Lubbock temple together.
Erin and Tanner at Taco Villa Monday on Wednesday at Chic-Fil-A.
Tanner, Erin, Ang and Ryan McKown at Taco Villa Monday on Wednesday at Texas Burger.I was at my parents when Parker called so Grandpa got to join in the call.

What's left of my giant birthday chocolate bar.
It is WAY TOO HOT for mid May.
Aub and Maiya finally got to eat in the locker room during lunch. They were fans!
This was a good day with Gram. We visited as best we could while we played with these little building toys. I love her.
Broadway in the Basin. We saw Waitress. I was glad Britney forewarned me about the plot. It was a rough one. (abuse, infidelity) The music was great and it was nice being on a date with my guy. Probably my favorite part of the evening was the 20 minutes after the show in the lobby with these guys. (We all sat separately.) Lft-rt: Bri, Erin, Adam & Megan Vore, Joseph and Kate Vore, Britney and Adam Bird
We were able to celebrate Dylan getting married. (This is my brother Kerry's girlfriend's son.) He's been stationed in Japan in the Marines so we haven't seen him in six months at least. We were able to meet Sydney too. They seem happy and SO young! Brit, Ang, Quetta and I decorated a couple of areas in the shop and had some yummy food.
We went to Stevie's graduation party also. She graduated 4th in her class and is planning on UNT in the fall. I'm glad Grandpa was able to make an appearance. Earlier that day, I had Gram with me, and she had a fainting/paralyzing type incident. I ended up calling an ambulance. They stayed in the hospital overnight, but Brit releaved Grandpa for a bit so he could stop by.
Park's Ghanaian outfit he had made. When I talked to him today on the phone, he mentioned he might like to use a Ghanaian middle name for at least one of his future kiddos. I love that he loves Ghana and his mission experience so much.
This was The Worst. Mid May, Parker got so so sick. He was throwing up, had diarrhea and was extremely weak. He had over 103° fever. He was miserable, and he was so far away. Also, his apartment has no A/C so it was likely around 85° inside. We felt very helpless. He was tested for Malaria twice and when his throat started killing him, the area wide mission doctor prescribed antibiotics. We prayed hard and checked in via messenger often. Brian and I quietly discussed if/when we should call the mission home to get him more care. I prayed constantly that week to know if we needed to do more on our end to get him help. It was scary. And when I look at the sadness in his eyes in these pictures, it hurts my heart.
It took a full week, but he recovered. When we were able to talk the next Monday, he felt almost 100% better except for a deep cough. We will take it! I am very grateful he recovered, was taken care of, and is a healthy young man.Tanner and Erin....he is a big tease. I think he was "helping" her butter the toast. She is about 30 weeks along now. Their baby boy is due the end of July!
I guess they look alike! (I am always terrible at telling those things.) I look like my dad too Brinley. I still have nightmares about the time we were on a Disney Cruise, and I was in the photo shop pulling up pictures. When you scanned your card, the system would pull up any pictures that matched your photo ID. Well, one of my dad wearing an eye patch, long dreads and dressed as a pirate came up as my photo. Thanks Disney.
Bryn got to stay with us through May 9th. Then she was off to a reunion with Sister Alison Maycock in Gilbert while she attended another mission companion's wedding that weekend. Then she headed back to Provo for FSY training and her new summer job.
Schools OUT! Let summer vacation begin!
