Kaide's Blessing Day

To be honest, I wasn't 100% sure this would happen, but I'm so glad it did!  I wanted it to be Tanner and Erin's choice to bless him.  I purchased the white blessing outfit for Kaide before he was born, but he was barely squeezing in it at four months old.  The day was wonderful, and I am grateful Brian was able to give Kaide a beautiful blessing.

Here are a few things I want to remember about the blessing:  Tanner brought Kaide up to the circle and held the microphone for Brian.  I loved that Tanner was able to be part of the blessing in that way.  He was really glad Brian was doing it because he said he had no idea what he would say.  Kaide is definitely old enough that he wants to be sitting upright and looking around.  Brian thought about this ahead of time, he's good like that, and he planned to kind of try to hold him sitting up more.  

Well, Kaide was fine for about 30 seconds to one minute and then he started screaming his head off.  He was NOT happy under all of those hands, and he was letting everyone know about it.  I was trying not to break out laughing uncontrollably.  It was hilarious and just so Kaide.  He is pretty calm and happy until he needs something.  Then he goes from happy to screaming like crazy in about 3 seconds flat.  

Brian tried to get a little bit more of the blessing in before he finally just ended it.  Everyone was chuckling.  The cutest thing though was as soon as Kaide was back in his Dad's arms, he instantly quit crying.  It was ADORABLE.  Then everyone in the congregation really started laughing.  It was really cute to see this young dad, that everyone in our ward has supported so kindly, doing such a good job at being a dad.  This baby knew he was safe in his daddy's arms.  Tanner then held up a 100% calm Kaide for everyone to see and headed back to our row.  

Brian gave a really sweet blessing.  I'm grateful he has been willing and able to do that over the years for our family.

The Birds, the Chris Vores and Grandpa were able to come but we only got a picture with some of the group.  (Church responsibilities will do that to you!)
