Thanksgiving Day was at Kerry's shop. He and Adam fried turkeys early. The teens and young adult boys joined in the annual Turkey Bowl (football game). I divided our assignments among all of my amazing young adults, and it was nice having so much help. This year we brought Sister Schubert's rolls (missing Ang and her homemade rolls!), green bean casserole, ham, fruit salad, and snickers salad.
This picture only took 18 tries and way too much complaining...but here we are.

Everyone enjoyed visiting with family and friends, plus we enjoyed playing bingo (w/ prizes!), pool, cornhole, and tossing the football around.

We had a nice Thanksgiving day. Brinley and Derek headed back early Friday, and the rest of us had a relaxed remaining couple of days to wrap up the holiday.
On Saturday, we were able to attend Lincoln's baptism. One person who made the day even more special was his grandmother, Angelique. She was able to leave her mission to be in the states for the birth of a grandbaby in Utah, and then able to fly to Odessa for Lincoln's baptism.

Sunday night was extra fun with Ang in town. We all enjoyed visiting with her.
A highlight was when she pulled up pictures from their mission and shared a little bit about each one. Her love for the missionaries was very evident, and it was really interesting to learn a little bit more about the culture of the church and the countries that their mission covers.
Here they were visiting two sick sister missionaries. This young man with them had recently been taught by these sisters and baptized. The sisters were so grateful their friend was able to visit them in the hospital and help give them a blessing.
Look at these beautiful faces.
Chris had the opportunity to help fill the font (by bucket!) before a baptism.
They both love when they are able to join the missionaries in teaching people about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
On Sunday night, we were also able to help put together a Christmas gift that Ang was getting ready to take back for her 200 missionaries. We glued pictures of Jesus on the back of a Christmas message she and Chris had written.

I'm so grateful for these little family traditions, like gathering each Sunday night, that help keep our family close. Hanging out one last time at the end of our Thanksgiving week was a nice way to wrap up our holiday.
