We just had one of my favorite weekends that happens twice each year...General Conference. The majority of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints view it via satellite in their chapels or homes. It is a time we can hear instructions from our church leaders.
Over 21,000 people are able to attend conference in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Brinley was able to do that for her first time this year. She LOVED it.
The Women's Saturday evening session was especially meaningful to her. Among other things, she loved hearing the new Young Women's theme, and she also wants to be one of President Nelson's adopted granddaughters. She was sitting with her roommate Kiersten, who is from Betonville Arkansas, when the new Betonville temple was announced. Kiersten started sobbing and so then Brinley started crying tears of joy too. Kiersten has been praying since she was 12 year old for a temple closer to her home.

Saturday morning session at our house was just Brian and me which was weird! Parker was out of town. Tanner was refereeing soccer, and Aubrey went to Avery's house watching with the McKowns. Saturday afternoon, Aub and Avery headed to our house. They were listening and drawing during most of conference. I was super impressed Aubrey's work. (Avery didn't show me her drawings.)
We had some conference treats to enjoy after each talk. We also made an effort to note the counsel given and blessings promised by each speaker. Just glancing at the brief summary of talks in this way is AMAZING. Who wouldn't want all of these wonderful blessings in their life?
