It's been a good week. Busy but good. Lots of people are shopping for Christmas items so Brian and I have been busy making and shipping. Brinley called Monday afternoon. I was heading to the post office and my phone was about to die. I was only able to visit w/ her for about 20 minutes. (We had visited twice the week before due to Thanksgiving though.) It was great to hear from her, and she and Brian and a good, long (!) visit while she wrapped gifts in her apartment.
Her plaque finally made it to Odessa 4th ward. I think it got lost in the Stake and w/ all of the craziness w/ Covid.
The missionaries had been asking about coming to share a message with our family this week. That is a little tricky because Brian has been working until 9 and the boys get home late. (Park 7ish, Tanner 7:45 ish) It worked out this week though.
Sadly, Brian was told due to the seasonal nature of TruGreen (lawn care), they didn't need him to come in for at least two weeks but probably longer. UGH. However, that meant he was home on Monday. He helped me a ton with shipping orders out, and he made dinner for us and the McKowns. It also meant we were able meet w/ the missionaries. It was a 3 for 1 kind of night. We counted it as our scriptures, our Family Home Evening and our missionary lesson. That helped us all after the end of a long day. The missionaries invited Parker to share his testimony by video for their Facebook page. He is dying inside a little because it is not in his comfort zone...but he said yes.
Parker was home for lunch and making some grilled cheese sandwiches. There goes half a loaf--it's crazy It's no wonder I'm at the store 2-3 times a week. (Well teen boys and my poor planning....to be honest.)
This week we have been busy little elves working in Santa's workshop. I know this is not the most flattering picture of me...didn't know Brian was taking it. I was staining the dice Brian cut/sanded/rounded while he was a few feet away doing a wood working project he is hoping to sell. Aubrey is earning extra money by helping paint the dice and week vinyl names and put them on the brushes. She has worked in random 10-15 minute increments throughout the week. I am super happy to have her help, and she is happy to be making $10 an hour. (Last week her time totaled about 1.5 hours.)
We've sold four wood dice sets this week, two foam sets, a handful of brushes, a ton of Santa Family ornaments and a ton of Santa Bags. Woot woot!

Brian was grateful for Aubrey's help in putting up lights this year and wishing for more help overall. He was laughing about the good ole days when he was in trouble with everyone it seemed. Brinley & Parker would be on the house helping. Tanner would be mad because Brian wouldn't let him go on the roof to help. Aubrey would be in the house mad because he couldn't watch her and help all the helpers help put on lights. Now he is grateful if the boys will help him get boxes out of the attack without too much grumbling.
And Tanner photo bombing Aubrey's Christmas PJ photo shoot....
Aub got some new Christmas pjs. Isn't she so cute. She has also decided to try wearing her hair w/ a middle part. We still don't have our tree up. Aub and I spent a lot of time on the other decorations. I think Bri and the boys are going to have to step up/take over if they want a tree.
Tanner and I were having a nice snuggle, but when the camera came out, there was ZERO cooperation! Turkey. He has had three basketball games in Lubbock the past 7 days. Craziness. Brian was able to drive up for his last one on Friday. So far they have won all of their games. Tanner was sure they were going to get killed this season. I guess he underestimated his team or they haven't faced the harder teams yet.
Park also had some excellent news this week. He was accepted into BYU Idaho! He is really hoping to go to BYU (in Provo), but he won't hear back until late February.
And the Permian team did a practice at Ratliff. Brian and I, along w/ many other parents, were able to go watch. They were awarded the district trophy at this time as well.
Harper T., the qb, getting interviewed. His mom wasn't able to go due to his grandparents having Covid, so I took a few picts for her.Afterwards, the boys headed to the parking lot to eat. I was looking for Parker and not sure how he'd feel about me searching him out. I was hoping to say hi, tell him it was fun to watch him play and take a picture or two. Well, he saw me first. He stood up in the back of the truck, started waiving his hands and yelling, "Mommy, I'm over here! Hi Mommy! That's my mommy." Ha ha. Crazy kid. I did at least get a picture of him w/ a few of his friends eating in this truck.

I think I purchased about 130 bags for about about $4.75 each, I think. I have it written down on a spreadsheet. I have sold probably 100 for about $14 each. (I have tweaked the price some to see what offers did best...so some were for more or less.) I have bought a ton of HTV vinyl and plenty of poly mailers and labels to ship. I have tried to take cute pictures and to write catchy advertising descriptions. Sales have slowed down now though. I am sure people are worried about shipping times. I might be stuck w/ 20 bags until next year. It's a lot of work but worth it overall, I think.
The church has started the Light the World campaign this week. Brit brought me cookies.😄 She said it was a thank you for serving her. I was surprised and asked her, "When?" She replied, "Always." That's a nice sister for you, and she knows chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. Thanks Brit!!!!
