February 8-13, 2021

We used to be better about enforcing screen time.  Online school has made that more difficult.  Being quarantined on and off the past year has made that difficult.  We are all on our devices Way Too Much, and it makes me very sad.
Tanner will often go in a room no one is in.  This is how I see him too often.  We will crack down.  He will get angry.  We will make him put away his phone and then we have our funny, involved boy again.
Pretty much at least once everyday I stop by my parents.  Sometimes in the evenings one of the kids will go over with me.  Aubrey and I were visiting Gram and Gramp, and Grandpa snapped these pictures.  She loves holding me and having me hold her.  I groan a lot both ways.  My back is not so great these days and even more critical is my 14 year old trying to hold her 140 lb mother.  Aub thinks it's so fun though.  Crazy girl.  We have been wrestling a lot lately as well.  I wrestled with the Brinley and the boys in their early teens too but after a point I had to call an eternal truce.  I think Aubrey and I have six months to a year left depending how quickly she overtakes me.  We are pretty evenly matched right now.
I LOVE these pictures.  Aubrey was modeling her new pajamas she bought for a "Gal"antine party with Lauron and Morgan.  Parker saw the eye mask and started teasing her about being "so extra."  She was laughing so hard because she knew it was true.  Cute girl!  (She didn't really want to buy pajamas.  She has limited funds, but the Galentine party sounded fun...and it didn't happen!  Oh well.  She now has silky, cute pjs.)
Parker has been working on his mission papers.  HOW EXCITING IS THAT?!?!  He met with Bishop Ormsby to get them started.  He has had two doctors appointments and a dentist appointment.  He has filled out several papers online.   I am impressed with the steps he is taking to make this mission experience a reality.

Brian started his new job this week.  It is a huge blessing to our family.  One kind of cool thing that Brinley talked to Parker about in an email is the blessings that have come to our family.  Last year we had ended the lawn care business.  Brian was searching for a job.  Brinley began her mission papers, and he was able to find a job.  This year, Parker began taking steps to turn in his papers, and Brian was hired with 3N.  I know their willingness to serve and sacrifice blesses our lives in many was well.

The YW had a formal dinner night for their activity this week.  Aubrey will spend hours doing her makeup and hair on days she has no where to go, but she doesn't always take the time when she has something at church, in particular.  She had a long day at school, starting with track practice at 7:20.  She came home and just relaxed.  About 15 minutes before she needed to leave for church, she was frantically trying on dresses.  After trying on dresses from both her closet and mine, I found one of Brinley's old dresses tucked away.  With just a minute to spare, she threw it on, ran a brush through her hair and put on a bit of mascara.  Here are all of the young women looking so pretty!

Georgie K, Analise H, Trinity O, Ali C, Luna H, Jhalilah S, Gracie W and Aubrey

We had a surprise visit from sweet Morgan on Friday when school was cancelled.  It was fun to just catch up.  She will be going to USU this fall!
Aub babysitting the Billings group.  I'm not sure why, but they like to bring them to our house instead of Aubrey going there.  Aubrey is calm under pressure and very busy all night.  Aubrey watched them for about two hours and the baby cried inconsolably for about half of that time.  Stressful.
He saved 15 Chic Fil A nuggets for later.  I unknowingly threw away his Chic Fil A sauce.  Whoops.  Sadly his trash digging didn't work.
Tanner & Aub snuggling on our bed.  He is pretty prickly lately.  Usually if one of us gets near him, he snarls, "don't touch me."  Every once in awhile he remembers human contact is okay and allows us near him.

Parker has been officially "talking" with Bethani the past few weeks.  I like that they have hung out here some.  After their Valentine date, they made cake waffles and cookies in between watching shows.
