"You Know Something I Don't Know"

 Brinley's letter June 7, 2021

This week was a week of MIRACLES. I don't have a lot of time to write so I'll give you the sparks notes version.

One of the biggest ones was Jessica!! In October of last year, Jessica was going through the hardest time of her life. She moved from Oregon and several things happened that made her feel very judged and very alone. She cried herself to sleep every night. One day she decided to pray and to plead with God for like-minded Christian people she could be friends with - that same day, Sister Ainsworth was doing Facebook finding, and prayed about a name to begin messaging. She felt prompted to message people with the name Jessica! So she found this Jessica in Nampa and told her she saw she was Christian and would love to do a Bible study with her if she was interested.

Jessica thought about that message every day for months, but felt nervous about responding. As the months went by, she began meeting people who belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They had a special light about them and they were very kind to her.  Saturday night, 8 months after Sister Ainsworth sent the message, Jessica decided she wanted to learn more about this church, so she replied back. She asked when and where church was, and the next day she and her mom showed up!

They LOVED it. We talked in the foyer about all of the things they enjoyed from the service. Jessica loved it so much that after 2 hours of church, she decided to attend the next two hours with us in the Young Single Adult ward as well.

It was so cool to see how God works! He inspired Sister Ainsworth to reach out to Jessica in her hardest time. Even when she thought her message went unread, it was an answer to prayer that Jessica desperately needed.

Another awesome experience this week is that we were in the park with some other missionaries and a girl and boy in the same park kept looking at us. Finally they walked over and we began talking to them. After some small talk, the boy said "I get the feeling you know something we don't know."

It was almost like the words popped out of him against his will😂 he buried his face in his hands and peeked out- worried how we would react.

It was such a cool experience for us, because he had walked by just as we began studying the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We DID know something he didn't know. And it was such a humbling experience to begin to tell him all about the peace and miracles that can come to him because of what we know

I know God is real!! I know Jesus Christ can provide healing and hope and rest, and that he can magnify who we are into who we are meant to be. I'm so grateful to know something that so many people don't know!

Love you all!
