Random October Picts

Well, I didn't do a great job of blogging in October.  I've been trying to get some of my business things posted and selling.  They are posted but not selling.  (Stress!)  I have also been doing a little bit of Christmas shopping, working out, attending Aubrey's 2x a week volleyball games, doing Relief Society stuff, helping a friend get ready to move, visiting my parents daily...you know...just life stuff.

Since I didn't really post much in October, this will be a long picture post!

Sometimes, after Aubrey is on my phone, I find a lot of random pictures of baby Noah Vore in my pictures.  Here are a couple from this month.  He is a pretty cute little guy!

Brinley had The Best birthday.  She felt lots of love and was very celebrated by sisters and families in her mission.  I love and miss this 21 year old girl of mine!

Her companion reached out and asked about traditions and what cake she liked.  A family in the ward made our traditional candy bar cake look amazingly fancy my layering it!  Also, at dinner, the family and/or her companion read cute things Bryn said or did when she was little.
We love you "G" to the "Will"

An after shot of our house with the fresh paint on the shutters, front door and around the windows.
This door makes me so happy.  It was needed a fresh coat of paint.  I also painted the mailbox and house numbers black to match.  It looks sharp.
Brian and I love Mondays.  It really is so great to be able to SEE our two missionaries and to hear about their weeks and share about ours.

Definitely had to share this throwback of tiny Tanner.

Aub dressed up 70s style during either Homecoming week or Red Ribbon week.  (A big thanks to Avery M for hooking her up.)

We had a great Relief Society activity this month.  My counselor, Lauren Ross, planned a "Family History is a Mystery" night.  First, she asked a sister to share how she found her birth family through AncestryDNA, and how that has blessed her.  Then, we had a class on FamilySearch.org, and how to better use it.  For those who may never have logged on to family search, there were three sisters in another room helping them with getting set up.  Then she had a delicious mystery dessert.

One of the best parts for me about this activity was I invited a friend and she came!  My friend Jill, who is about my parents age, has previously done genealogy but not online.  I introduced her to familysearch.org two days before this activity and she was so excited.  I am so glad she was able to come.  I am really grateful to Lauren for preparing such a well rounded, well put together activity.
These pictures are pretty blurry.  I asked another sister to take a few and share on our Facebook page.
Our mystery dessert.  Lauren gave us a cup of warm Ganash to drizzle over the skeleton.  Then the white chocolate mold melted and revealed a large brownie with a few rasberries on top.  It was seriously so amazing.  (I loved it so much, I made borrowed the mold and made some skeletons for my group so we could experience the deliciousness.)
We had an after school get together with Ella, Char, Gram, Gramp, Britney and me.  Brit made the brownies. Grandpa brought the ice cream.  I made the Ganash and skeletons and supplied the rasberries.  It was a party.

Aub after a long bus ride/game day in Abilene which is about 2.5 hours away.  You gotta love the double back pack.
Aubrey had her last volleyball game on October 26th....and started basketball workouts the next day.  She had a great season and really loved playing volleyball.  She had some good support along the way as well.  It's so nice to have a loving support system nearby!  (Ang and Lauron, Gram and Gramp, Tanner and Erin, the Birds and Megan and Adam Vore and family)
Another amazing action shot, courtesy of Grandpa.  We are spoiled.  Aubrey's teammates love it when he comes too because sometimes he is able to take a few of them as well.
Mrs. Watson, her 4th grade teacher, even came one night.  Aubrey chose her as her favorite teacher and she was recognized and given a small gift in front of the crowd.

Both Aubrey and Tanner made all A's this six weeks.  It is very impressive especially considering their advanced classes, early morning seminary and athletic commitments.

I made it to a couple of Taco Villa Mondays on Wednesdays at Texas Burger and then Rosas this month.  When it is at Taco Villa, I avoid at all costs because even though the company is great, the food is gross.

Grandpa is showing off his egg cooker to "the boys."
Wa-la!

Park said he could barely stand there and balance this and people in Ghana can run up and down the streets balancing things on their heads.

We are blessed to have one of the best seminary teachers in the west....Grandpa Vore.  Tanner had early practice and so I needed to take Aubrey.  It was fun to hear a little bit of the class from down the hall.  He is so good.  He is prepared.  He incorporates technology on a big screen which he purchased.  He is high energy, high interaction, and does his best to make the gospel applicable and keep seminary fun.  He has always been good with youth, and Bri and are very grateful our kids get to experience their grandpa as their teacher.
I peaked in a took a few shots.  (It was the Friday before Halloween and so some of the kids were wearing costumes....thus the youth with the white hood on.)
I love the student at the front of the room celebrating some sort of victory.  He does his best to keep them involved, and I know it makes a big difference.

And for posterity's sake: Grandpa Gwilliam was an amazing seminary teacher as well.  He is practically a legend in their California area.  There is a beautiful book they made for him when he "retired" from teaching and was asked to be the coordinator.  It is a three ring binder filled with probably over 100 letters from former students.  I loved it so much that I copied every page and now we have our own copy.  I need to get it out and show the kids.

FHE activity

Our sweet Brinley Kate.  (far right)  She is winding down.  She will only be home for two weeks and then off to BYU for her Sophomore year.  She loves her mission, and I am so grateful she has had this opportunity to learn, grow and serve in the Idaho Boise Mission.

Sunday night.  We still have it every week, of course, but now that I am not blogging much I don't take many pictures.  Here are a few from a week at the Bird's.

Poor Hudson.
A better match for piggie back rides.  (Holden and Aubrey w/ Lauron in the background)
Ella and Char  There was a wild nerf war, or something like unto it, going on in the playroom.  Tanner, Lauron, Aubrey, Braddock, Hudson, Holden, Char, Ella and Isaiah were all involved...I think.  Love these cousins making memories together.
