Baby Shower

Britney and Ang were amazing and adorable and hosted a baby shower for Erin.  Britney said she had more RSVPs to it than probably any other event she had thrown.  She felt like everyone just wanted Tanner and our family to know that they were here for us.  It makes me a little teary even now.

Brit made these cute invitations.  Angelique had it at her house, and she and Lauron did the fun decorations.  La also made cake pops, and Aubrey made Erin's favorite pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  Britney went all out with a beautiful charcuterie board.  Erin's mom Melissa and some of her aunts brought lots of fresh fruit and the drinks.

Erin opening gifts and Ang next to her writing everything down.  I regret not finding a closer seat and watching as she opened.  I was worried about visiting with a few of my friends who came to support me but didn't really know anyone else.   I really felt so loved and blessed by friends and family on this day.

Erin's mom Darlene is sitting on the floor.  This was my first time to meet her, and it was really good having a few minutes to visit.

Aubrey planned a couple of games, and we had fun shopping for gifts for the winners.  One game was for everyone to cut a piece of yarn the length they thought was the measurement of Erin's waist.  They could only eyeball it--no wrapping it around their own waiste.  Then Aubrey measured Erin and compared yarn to find the winner.  The other game she prepared was Price It Right with baby items.  (diapers, bottles, an outfit etc.)  Amberely Jackson, who has a five month old, won that one!

Tanner had no plans on coming for the actual shower but when he was finished mowing for the day, he stopped by to help load up gifts.  I was really glad he did.  He caught the last few gifts being opened and then he made an effort to go around to those who were still there and thank them for coming.  I was impressed!
