Father's Day

We loved celebrating our wonderful fathers this year.

Brian

Brian is selfless, supportive and kind.  He helps our family laugh together.  He is willing to go with the flow.  He works hard at home and work and loves Jesus Christ.  I love him and am very grateful he is the father of our four.

Throwback from a Disney cruise about 13 years ago when Aub was 2 1/2 years old.

Did I get one picture of him on Father's Day? No.....Mom fail for sure.  We got him a card and two gift cards to Subway and Chipotle.  Aubrey and Tanner both wrote him sweet notes about why they loved him.  Aubrey added a king size Twix to her gift, and I think Tanner has a gift card on the way.  Brinley called which was tricky with her busy FSY schedule.  Parker got to call and wrote a very sweet tribute to him in his weekly email.  I will post below:

Happy Father's Day to all of the Fathers.  Especially my Dad. He has taught me things.  My dad is one of the funniest, nicest people I know.  He is shy until you actually get to know him and then he becomes an entire new person.  My Dad has shown me how to support a family and the sacrifices that come with it. How to balance work, church callings, family.  He taught me how to do so much handy work around the house like electrical, cars, wood work.  I love my Dad so much and As I've been in Ghana it has grown so much.  I'm around people who don't know their dad or whose dad lives next door but won't help support and is never around, Dads who are home all of the time but for the sake of the family it would be safer if the dad wasn't around.  Thank you for being you and making me me Dad.  I love you.

Tanner

It was hard to know what to do for Tanner exactly.  His baby is due next month, and I don't think we will usually get him a Father's Day gift.  However, we had given Erin a little gift and a card on Mother's Day, and I didn't want him to be expecting something and then be disappointed.

So we got him a few treats and this loveliness:

"We figured you might need a new outfit to be on trend with your new upcoming role.  Happy Father's Day Tanner.  Love, Mom, Dad and Aubrey"
Cool white cheap tennis shoes...
Plus nice long shorts and athletic shirt...kind of matching.  He's got his slumped posture "dad stance" going as well.
He's set!  Both he and Erin were cracking up.  Tanner kept saying, "Oh ya!  Oh ya, I needed this.  I saw this on TikTok."  It was a fun way to celebrate.
He will be a good dad.  He is a great young man: smart, hard working, focused, funny.  He also has great examples in his dad, grandfathers, uncles and church leaders.

Jerry/Grandpa Gwilliam

We love our Grandpa Gwilliam and are excited to see him in a couple of weeks at the Gwilliam reunion!  We sent a card his way telling him a few of the things we appreciated about him.  I personally love that he raised Brian to love God.  He taught him how to work hard.  He showed him how to fix things and build things and maintain things.  (broken bikes, leaky faucets, remodels, house hold needs.) I also appreciate the love he shows our family.

Grandpa preparing pancakes and getting ready to teach us a little about Joseph and his colored coat!

Steve/My Dad/Grandpa Vore

We had my parents over for lunch right after church to celebrate the day together.  We had roast beef sandwiches, watermelon and ice cream bars.
Grandpa giving Tanner a little love...
Gram helping Grandpa open his gift.  She was ready to leave!  It had been a long day at church and then straight to our house.  We got him a card and some chocolate chip cookie dough from a bakery he likes.

Then, later that day we had to convince him and Gram to hop in the car with us and go for a drive.  My siblings and I had planned a little surprise, but it was only on display from 5-5:15 pm.  Kerry and I were the only two Vore kids in town so we met at Grandpa's at 4:50.  Miraculously we were able to convince Gram to hurry to the van, and we loaded up and headed down 8th street.  (If she wasn't able or willing, Brian was going to stay with her while we took Dad for a ride.)
Bri and Grandpa were in front, Gram and I were in the middle and Kerry and Quetta were in the back.
His laugh was the best when this popped up on the big screen.  Watch the video below!  It makes me smile for sure because it is just so him with his great laugh and fun reaction.  Goodness gracious sakes alive!

Erin, Dad, Mom and Kerry
Here are just a few things I love about my dad.  He loves to learn new things.  He is great to tease and make each person in our family feel loved and special.  He loves God.  The past two years he has been taking such good care of my mom.  Sure love you Dad!

Grateful we have a day to remember and celebrate the Dad's in our lives!
