Sibling Gift Exchange

December 23, 2022

It was a full day with the cousin gift exchange being moved to the same day as the sibling (plus Mom & Dad) gift exchange.  Luckily Brit hosted the 2nd event at her house.  I made chicken pablano soup for our gathering, but Brit had a spread of chili, salad, sides and dessert, and we enjoyed a very chill dinner before games and gifts.

Chris and Ang had all of their big kids in town and so Chris just stopped by for about 45 minutes and then headed back home.  It was really sweet that he made a point to stop by even though they had already declined.  I love my siblings!  Beck and Brian go to Oklahoma on Christmas Eve and are home for Christmas day.  They had made it a few times over the years and add a lot of fun to the party.
Brit planned some silly games and somehow Kerry endured them.  Ha!  Brit vs Nate trying to loop candy canes on the string.
More candy cane fun.  (Brinley was very sweet to stay with Gram so Grandpa could come.)

We didn't take many pictures.  This last one is from the end of the night.  I gave Nate and Beth their annual Shutterfly photo calendar.  I have been giving Nate one for years, and he is always so cute about it.  The past couple of years I have almost ended the tradition.

When I started, I had several pictures of Nate with my kiddos I could include or pictures from our Vore family vacation.  Now that my kids are older, those pictures with Uncle Nate don't really happen, and our Vore vacations are on hold with my mom's poor health.  Luckily Nate and Beth had two receptions this year, and I was able to include some fun family pictures from those events.

So...the calendar happened for one more year!  Also, about 5 years ago, I had decided not to do it anymore and out of the blue, Nate sent me a heat press.  We had both recently gotten a vinyl machine and would talk occasionally about our projects.  His thoughtfulness was so unexpected and fun, I decided to push through with the calendar!  Ha...Maybe it's just meant to be.
