Every night we gather the kiddos and read scriptures and have prayer together. Right now we are reading the Doctrine and Covenants. It's been a little rough because we don't have paper copies for everyone and sometimes a phone is missing. Well, everyone does have a paper copy but it's definitely not worth the fight to try to get them to get their scriptures from their rooms. We are probably 2/3 of the way through and it finally dawned on me to at least bring my two copies out to the family room. It went much better.
I'm grateful for this family tradition. It's nice to know we are trying to follow the counsel of our living prophets. It's nice to feel the peace just from reading the word of God. It's nice to gather together at the end of the day as a family.
We were about to start and there was no blanket in site so I grabbed this dishcloth and pillow to help keep me warm...I was mocked! |
Brian teasing me and apologizing to Morgan that I wouldn't share my warmth. |
Lots of shoes and a shirtless Parker...both very common sites. |
