Especially For Youth

EFY was a success.  We didn't hear much during the week from the boys.  On Tuesday we received a really great text from Parker telling us about a couple of classes.  We could tell he had been impacted by some of the talks that were given.  Also, he was a fan of his roommate and his group.

We were a little concerned about Tanner though.  On Monday evening he said his roommate was weird and he wasn't too sure about his group.  He takes longer to settle in sometimes.  By Tuesday evening he was more positive.  He answered "good" (and nothing more😂) when we asked about his day.  Brian and I both let out a sigh of relief.  We really didn't hear much more from either of them until they got home.

Bri spotted a video one of the counselors uploaded to Instagram and we were SO grateful.  We could both tell that Tanner was doing just fine.  Isn't he the cutest?

Once home Parker talked and talked about the friends he made, the talks, the funny things that happened, the talent show, the dances...everything.  Tanner, on the other hand, was pretty silent.  He said about three sentences and then nothing.

After being home about an hour Parker headed off to work at the Brown's mowing and cleaning the pool. Tanner went to bed at 4:30 in the afternoon and didn't wake up until 9:30 Sunday morning.  SEVENTEEN hours of sleep.  Guess he needed to catch up!  On Sunday he began sharing about his week and we have heard more since then.  Parker was on lesson for FHE and shared some great insights from one of his classes.  (Learning to prioritizing the unnecessary, the good and the best.)  Both boys have been very sweet with hugs and snuggling.  We missed those two.  I'm very grateful for the EFY program and all the team work that goes in to making the gospel of Jesus Christ come alive for our youth.

On a side note, this is Parker's payment for mowing the lawn and cleaning the pool the next couple of months until the Brown's house sells!
