Aubrey was happy to go but didn't really have any idea on what to expect. She was over the moon when she came home. She was talking nonstop for hours. She made so many friends, loved the food (thanks Kristi Phillips!), enjoyed the hike, felt the spirit, learned a ton of fun camp songs, enjoyed the skits and so much more. Her very favorite activity of the week was rock climbing. She wasn't home more than five minutes before she was begging to look on the computer to see if there was a place to rock climb in our area.
We didn't get to see her for long though. She was home less than 24 hours before it was time to fly to Retreat for Girls in Utah. She unpacked, washed, repacked and was on her way the next morning. Can't wait to hear about her next adventures.
Tuesday 7:00am they met at the church. We combined with Odessa 1st because they only had three girls going this year. Back row: Aubrey, Jenna, Avery M, Trinity O, Jo, Natalie H, Georgie K Front row: Jazmynn S, Kyana R, Lauron V, Kate M & Abbey
Quote of the day goes to Jazmynn. Aubrey said "Hey! I didn't know you were coming!" She coolly replied "Me neither." It was kind of hilarious.
The theme was "This is me" from "The Greatest Showman." I think Aubrey was the bearded lady here. (Although with her quick turnaround, all details are pretty sketchy on my end.)Picking them up at the church was enlightening. So much stuff. Hot, tired girls. Plus two leaders and three girls had strep. (Aubrey's throat started hurting the next day. When we had an hour until she flew to Utah...not the best timing.)
Before and After pictures😂. She was ready to have a shower.
Martha McKown, her fearless YW president. (One of the lucky strep throat victims.)
Avery M, Aubrey, Lauron V
We missed our girl. Even the boys were sweet with her when she came home. We were all cracking up around the dinner table. Brinley took some time to hang out in her room and listen to her girl's camp experiences. See you in a week AJG!
