Strep Throat

The coaches at Permian recruited Parker to participate in power lifting.  He went to his first tournament last Saturday.  He left at 5:00 am and when he came home at 7:00 pm, he was feeling awful.
He placed 5th in his division!
Strep throat wiped him out for a good four days.  Poor baby.  He was miserable. His tonsils were huge and he also had 6-8 ulcers on each side.  He lost 10 lbs. too.
Parker's first outing was on Wednesday: "Taco Villa Monday" at Texas Burger on Wednesday.  He almost went to school that day but he wasn't sure he could handle all of the workouts on top of school and early morning seminary.  It was a good thing he gave himself one more day because after going out to lunch, he came home and slept for four hours straight.
Thursday morning, he was up at 5:40 am for seminary and hasn't stopped since.  He had workouts before, during and after school on Thursday and Friday.  Friday afternoon he started track, and Saturday he had another all day power lifting competition.  It's impressive how teens can bounce back so thoroughly, but I am grateful my boy is feeling so much better.
