Broom Challenge and Basketball

We are in a slow sports week Gwilliam wise.  Aubrey's basketball has ended and track doesn't start until next week.  She has been pacing around the house in the evenings and is not sure what to do with her extra time.  Parker's first track meet is on Friday, and Tanner only has one basketball game this week.

So....when we found out Hudson had a basketball game on Monday night, everyone wanted to go.  I thought it started at 8:30 but it started at 8:15.  We got there just before half and it was over by 8:45.  Wow!  Time flies when the young ones are playing.

Hudson is super athletic and did a great job.  He scored two for his team also!
We really enjoyed watching him play.
I love this cute picture...minus my glaring boy in white.  (He promised he smiled but Brit just must have missed it.  I told him he needs to learn to smile just a little longer so we can capture the moment.)  I really do think it's a fun picture though.  Go Hudson!  Go Rockets!
And moving on to the broom challenge.  Anyone else doing this at their house this week?
NASA did not say that because of the gravitational pull your broom would stand on it's own on this one day...but that viral rumor sure had lots of people trying it.
This has been our house the past 48 hours.  They left the two brooms by the laundry room door overnight.  Then they moved a broom to the middle of the kitchen and left for seminary and school.  Meanwhile, I did dishes, had lunch, and made dinner around the broom!
Aubrey did her her homework after school, and the broom was going strong.
Dinner time...still up.  I was so ready for Parker to get home so he could see the success, and we could just put the broom away.
Evening...and then night time....
I happily tucked the broom back in it's place behind the laundry room door.  Then, Tanner brought it back out and placed it in a new spot.  He kindly pointed out that it was not in a high traffic area.  He stood it up between the bar and the couch so we could see just how many days in a row it would balance.   Crazy kid.  I'm pretty sure he put it there to try to get a reaction out of me.  I left it that night, used it to SWEEP the kitchen the next day and then put it behind the door in the laundry room.  The end of the broom experiment at our house...I hope!
