The Trade

Aubrey really wanted to go with her friend group to the movies last Saturday.  She had one problem though, no money.  She had spent her limited funds on thoughtful Christmas gifts for family.  We gave her the option to earn some money but I wasn't confident she would.  Usually she gets pretty huffy because, according to Aubrey, her time is Way Too Valuable for the amount of money we are willing to pay for the amount of work she is expected to do.

She spent about an hour total raking up the leaves on Friday after a long day at school and basketball and then again on Saturday morning.  I was impressed that she followed through.  Not too long ago, she would have either balked at the idea of having to do a chore for money or started the chore but not finished it.

She had a fun time watching Frozen II with some friends from her lunch table.  We appreciated so many of those leaves being raked up from our front yard.   It was a win win.  Well done Aub Daub.
