Day Two

February 24, 2019
We had an early morning character breakfast scheduled...which my group all chose to skip.  It's so nice to sleep in and have lots and lots of food choices available ALL DAY LONG!  Aubrey and I did a mystery scavenger hunt around the ship.  We did it a few years ago too.  This would be a great place to insert that picture but I really don't know how to just grab it.  We both love this activity.  It takes you all over the ship and there are pictures that move and play a video when you stand in the right place and use the special card.   I especially appreciated having interaction with one of my children.  Often on family vacations with extended family I feel like I don't see the kids.  They are too busy hanging out with their cousins.

Gram at the character breakfast.

They added a new sweet shop on deck 9 where you can purchase candy and fancy ice cream.  This little Minnie and Mickey were pretty cute!I never really saw anyone in there.  We for sure just enjoyed the food we had already paid for with the cruise.  (soft serve ice cream, buffets, fancydinner meals, burgers and fries, room service etc....)

Choosing which scavenger hunt we wanted to do.

Sunday was "formal" night.  You can tell our group did not care to go all out!   I bought the boys polos to go with their church pants so they wouldn't have to wear their white shirts and ties.  I really wish I would have had our family take a group picture. Oh well.

The waiters were so good to take care of everyone.  We didn't make it easy because we had six assigned tables and we kept switching were we sat.  They were also really good to bring out brain teasers for the older kids and silly tricks for the younger cousins.  We had about an hour after dinner and before the show.

Often the kids would end up in one of our rooms and watch a show before and after the live entertainment.  I told Brian for our next vacation we might should just stack up in a hotel room, provide lots and lots of movies and food and the teens would be happy for days.  It is a little more complicated than that...but still.  I think they loved the freedom of going exploring all around the ship, switching rooms, throwing in a 45 minute swim, grabbing some ice cream and then heading back to the room to watch another show.  Tanner especially took advantage of the Star Wars movies playing each night in the movie theater.  Every night at 11:00 he would stop whatever he was doing and head to the show.  I would head to bed!
