President's Day Weekend

Feb 15-17, 2019
It's always nice to have a long weekend.  The kiddos had lots to look forward to. Tanner had his Midessa basketball tournament Thursday night and Saturday.  Parker had his driving test in Lubbock on Friday to get his license.   Aubrey had invited friends to come over on Saturday and Brinley was invited by her friend Ireland to go to a YSA activity in Ruidoso over the weekend.  We finished the weekend with a fun Sunday night b-day celebration at the Birds.  Only a few more days until the big Disney Cruise!

It's fun for me to watch Bri and Tanner talk b-ball
after each game.

Nimitz went into the tournament seeded 2nd.  They played super hard but
ended up 4th.  Tanner was frustrated but he really played well.  He had
18 points in one game and I think about 13 in the others.

The DMV is basically a disaster everywhere and way overcrowded here with the oil boom.
We booked it online weeks ago and February 15th was the soonest test he
could take without missing a day of school.  Brian drove him to Lubbock to take it.  (He's
a great father and husband!)  Park passed....just a reminder to slow down as he drives. (quick
starts and quick stops...something Bri and I have been trying to teach him for the past year!)

Celebration dinner at Chuy's

On Friday morning before Bryn headed out, she taught Aubrey
a cool duet on the piano.  It was so fun to see them playing together!
Ireland A, Michaela W, River A, Brinley, Kenzie R, and Christian (in the very back)
This picture is confusing because River is engaged to Kenzie but sitting by
two other girls.  He was kind and gave the heated seats to the girls up front.
Bryn had a blast and was so glad she went.  They played card games, went tubing,
out to eat, shopping and just had fun hanging out.  She mentioned how inclusive Kenzie,
Ireland and River were and how that really impressed her.  She has also been very leary
about considering the YSA branch but I think this outing gave her hope.  I think she really
enjoyed just hanging out with lots of people her age who have similar beliefs and standards.
And this was crazy....
BYU was going to send out acceptance letters on Monday but
thanks to Cougar Board we found out you could log on to your BYU
account and find out if you were accepted.  But Bryn was in Ruidoso...
and then she couldn't figure it out from her phone....so she had us
log on and find out the news!  Rise and Shout Brinley!
We were super excited for her.  Way to go Brinley Kate.
Friday night we were about to start scripture and prayer when there
was a knock at the door.  It was Aisha!  And she had Dilly Bars!   When her family lived here they
brought us Dilly Bars for FHE treats on many occasions...just because they are awesome that way.
It made our night that she surprised us once again.  Sweet girl!  She
and Charity invited Park to go hot tubbing so we did a really quick
scripture and prayer and then Parker DROVE himself there and back.

Aub and friends.  She's a crazy girl.
They made up dances and jumped on the tramp and played with their silly kid's
meal toys and played on their phones and watched a movie and played the piano and
wrote on the front walk with sidewalk chalk .... I think they had fun.
Jaela R, Breena W and Aubrey
It was a really nice long weekend.
