Mother's Day

I have to admit I was a little worried how Mother's Day would turn out this year.  I picked up Aubrey around 9 pm on Saturday and she made a call to Brian to see if he had been able to pick up her Mother's Day request.  He had been sick for two days and had not gone to the store.  She urgently requested a quick stop at 7'11.  I dug out the only cash I had...a dollar and some change.  She rushed up to the door and then saw her reflection in the glass and came right back to the car.  She begged me to go in and buy a Hershey bar so she could give it to me.  I just started laughing and said I had to draw the line somewhere!  I do love that it was on her mind and she wanted to do something special.

Parker was out of town.  Brinley was pretty focused on Prom.  Tanner worked all day on Saturday. Brian was sick.  We have outgrown the years where Primary leaders and elementary school teachers help the kiddos make sweet little art projects and cards.  Luckily though my family came through and made me feel very special once again.  I think Brian might have made a midnight run to the store.  I'll take it!
Aub's lovely hair do.  Lauren and Lauron had been fixing her hair and makeup in different styles for a movie.

At 7'11 trying to talk me in to going in instead of her.

On Saturday night Tanner came in and gave me a shoulder rub and asked if I would like chocolate chip cookies the next day.  Definitely!  He slaved all morning and was probably regretting it a bit.  He wouldn't eat even one cookie...they were ALL for me. (54 of them to be exact)  I finally convinced him that I needed and wanted to share.

Brian and Parker made dinner.  He also gave me a sweet card, a necklace (which I picked out on our anniversary trip), a rose, and pita chips w/ hummus.  Yum!  Brinley wrote me a sweet note and gave me some treats.  She also spoke at church. I felt honored (and a little embarrassed) as she gave lots of examples of why I was a great mom and how she wanted to incorporate those attributes when she becomes a mother.
My dad gave me this cute book.  He is always very thoughtful and does something special for his girls on Mother's Day.  (His girls being his wife and his daughters and daughters-in-law.)
Parker was gone with Austin hunting.  It was really lonely in our pew at church.  He was out of town and Brinley was on the stands because she gave a talk.  He gave me mini M&Ms and a large KitKat when he came home.

Aub made this delicate card. She is very creative.  I thought the way she decorated the Hershey's was cute.  SHE'S: caring, pretty, kind, nice.
