Selfless

We are definitely experiencing the teen years over here.  Our kiddos are busy and involved.  They are fun to hang out with it/when they are ever home.  We also have a lot of moodiness at the Gwilliam household.  It's hard to have everyone kind and happy at the same time.

At times, if we ask Parker a question, he will purposefully mumble a response.  When we ask him to repeat it because we seriously could not understand much of his response....he is super annoyed and his mumbles become more jumbled.

Aub often wakes up angry and heads to bed angry.  She is pretty happy in between though.  At certain times, we just tip toe around that grumpy, growly bear who needs her sleep.  (Well, I tiptoe and Bri teases.)

Tanner walked in from seminary on Friday and Aubrey was up getting ready.  He scornfully demanded, "Why do you get up this early to get ready for school?  It makes no sense."  I loved her reply, "Why do you care what time I get up to get ready for school?"

See?  Lots of teen moodiness over here.

Two sweet things happened this weekend that made me happy.  Just a glimpse into the kind, selfless nature of my boys...which we sometimes don't see as often as we used to when they were younger.    On Friday, Tanner sent me this text:
Tanner has been grudgingly working his tail off to memorize all of the states and capitols for a map test in Geography.  He has about 2/3 of them down.  I was impressed he gave that 100 to a friend and will now need to spend part of his weekend memorizing the other 1/3 of the United States.
Parker had football practice on Saturday morning.  I think they were reviewing film.  He came home with a box of donuts he purchased for the family.  How sweet is that?  I was especially impressed that he included a sprinkle donut for Aub and a cake donut for Brian because he knows those are their favorites.  (Tanner, Parker and I love glazed.)

Pretty sweet, huh?
