We had two varsity home games at Ratliff this week (Permian and OHS) so our games were bumped a day earlier. Tanner played on Wednesday night and Parker had his game on Thursday. Aubrey recently learned she made the Nimitz volleyball team. Woot woot! Her first game was on Thursday night so Brian went to her game and I went to Parker's. He and Aubrey made it to the 2nd half of the football game. I think we will have a Thursday night sports conflict with Tanner and Aubrey's games most days this fall.
Tanner is #38.
Grandpa, of course, took this awesome picture.
Gram braved the elements and came to support.
These are the only two pictures Bri was able to get. He sent me this text "She has a little bit of Tanner in her. She is not cooperating with pictures." Grandpa is coming next week so we will have some fun picts soon!
Parker's game. I was shocked with how empty the visitors side was. We played El Paso and they are 5 hours away. Also, it was a school night...but still!
El Paso had a mass shooting a few weeks before the one in Odessa took place. The students of both schools made banners to exchange #ElPasoStrong, #OdessaStrong, #WestTexasStrong. Our band performed a special tribute during halftime that was really beautiful. Here is a link to see some of the halftime show. In part of it they marched from their traditional MOJO to form the word LOVE. There was a hauntingly sweet flute solo of Amazing Grace as well.
