Church with Cousins

The Birds went out of town for a few days and Brinley was the caretaker.  It was so cute hearing her updates.  She was pretty sure Ella, almost 5, could sense her weakness and turn on the drama.  Hudson kept her informed on the way his mom or dad usually handled each situation.  Braddock let everyone know about Brinley's "explosion" in the kitchen.  (The story got bigger with each telling.  She had a little trouble turning on the gas stove.)

Mostly though, she  kept telling me how amazing they were.  I would ask how it was going and she'd say in amazement, "Really good!  They are really such great kids."   We all know that they are great kids but taking care of four younger kiddos is still a lot of work.  I think both the cousins and Brinley really enjoyed their time together.  I know Britney and Adam appreciated being able to attend a friend's wedding in Utah.

We loved that they joined us for church on Sunday and stayed for lunch.

Aubrey helped Brinley some on Saturday.  She loved hanging out with her cousins.  Aub braided the girls hair and on Sunday, they had these matching crimped hairdos.
Our second week of church around our table.  It went pretty well.  Parker needed to be separated from Ella.  He was playing all sort of hand games with her and my dirty looks weren't stopping him.  Turkey 17 year old.  Char and Tanner both gave well prepared talks on prayer.

The cousins were really surprised when we ended church after Sacrament meeting.  They thought it was really short.  They usually have a second hour of Primary.  We told them we do our Come Follow Me scripture study every evening during the week instead.  They told us they do that as well.  Sorry Brit and Adam.  You may have a few comparisons/complaints next week.

Afterwards we played games: Dominion, Crowns, Ping Pong and Air Hockey.

Tanner was on lunch, and Char and Ella were willing helpers.  We made Hawaiian sliders, mac and cheese and fruit smoothies.
These little cousins are the cutest to have around.  We enjoy those older boys as well.  Maybe if church is shut down much longer, we can meet with them from time to time.
