Mini Vacation

The countdown is on for Brinley starting the Missionary Training Center (MTC.)  We wanted to do one last family trip before she officially begins her service.  This past weekend we drove to Lewisville.  We drove up on Thursday afternoon and got there about 8:30 in the evening.
It really is surreal that this mask life is our life right now.
Brian wanted to take two cars so we could bring all the stuff that goes with going to the lake:  a knee board, a wake board, life jackets, rope, tubes, fishing poles, a cooler and more.  It's so nice having older kids who helped gather and load it all up.  They also helped clean our house before we left and the Airbnb when we were through.  AND...they did it without complaint.  It was kind of miraculous and made the quick trip much more doable.

The boys went up in the truck and the girls went in the van.  The boys pick on Aubrey constantly.  In turn, Brian and I get on to the boys for being mean to Aubrey.  It's miserable...so deciding to take two cars made for much more pleasant traveling.  (Just keeping it real over here.)
Me, Aubrey and Brinley

Our little house that we rented on Airbnb was perfect.  It was in the middle of an industrial area, but that worked just fine for us.  It was really beautiful inside and out.  Everything was brand new, comfortable and just so charming.  We made ourselves at home right away.
Bri took the boys and Aubrey on a late night fishing expedition.  Well, they attempted to go fishing anyway.  They found a little lake and were getting their supplies out when Game Warden Espinoza came on the scene.  They were on a golf course or private property or something.  So they called it a night and came back to the house.  They said he kept reintroducing himself as "Game Warden Espinoza"...and as they told Brinley and me the story, she thought they were saying "gay warden Espinoza."  We had some good laughs and called it a night.
Here is a picture I took of our cute house the next day.  I'll post more about our little vacation tomorrow.
