Tanner's mostly self imposed schedule amazes me. It differs a little from day to day but here is a glimpse of one day last week.
8:30-10:30 a.m. worked out with his high school basketball team
11-2 p.m. mowed four lawns in 104° heat and did his morning chores at home
3-5 p.m. b-ball shooting/drills outside on the asphalt in the 108° heat
At 5:00 p.m. I took pity on him. I was going to run some errands near the church and offered to drop him off so he could practice indoors. Once we got there, however, someone was in the gym, so we went through the Chic Fil A drive thru instead.
7-10:30 p.m. It's still over 100° outside, and he finished the evening doing basketball shooting and dribbling drills.
How is that for:
Energy
Dedication
Drive
Determination
Definitely impressive in my book.
Before we saint him, however, there is this. As we were eating our Chic Fil A in the parking lot, having a great little conversation, he nonchalantly turned to me and said, "I'm going to win the lottery one day, and then I'm going to use my winnings to put you in a nursing home early."
The turkey boy.
I love him anyway.
