Allergy Testing

Aub had allergy testing on Monday.  The ENT she went to for her sinus surgery suggested it would be helpful to get allergy control looked into.  I thought it was pretty interesting.  I think Aubrey thought it was pretty interesting too until they brought out the bucket of 24 needles to do additional testing.

And then, when we went back to the room for the results, she really freaked out when the doctor suggested weekly shots....  (crying, burying her head in my lap.)  Dr. Wolbert made a quick break from the room.  He was very soft spoken and kind, and I think seeing her reaction made him feel very uncomfortable.  Just like the thought of getting bi-weekly shots made Aubrey very uncomfortable!
They gently pressed different serums on top of her back.  After 15 minutes, whichever ones swelled up were indicators of what she is allergic to.  Dust and Mold.  Not bad.  There was a little boy before us who was allergic to just about every dot placed on his back.  I think there were around 48 possibilities.
Her face when they brought the bucket full of needles...I don't blame her.

She was injected about 8 times in her arm.  She took it like a champ.  She just chewed on her lower lip and had a few tears.

The visit ended on a higher note.  The office had this fun slide, and more importantly, we decided drops, not shots, might be better due to cost and time issues.  (With shots we would be driving to and from Midland and then waiting 30 minutes afterward each time to be sure there was not reaction.)  Then we were off to the mall to do some summer clothes shopping and have some lunch.
