Young Men's Campout

The boys were off this morning at 5:45 for their Young Men's camp this summer.  They are heading to the Santa Fe New Mexico National Forest. They have heavy packs and hard hikes ahead.  I think it will be very challenging but/and they will have have a great time.

They are so glad it is not scout camp...just camping with the guys from the ward.  They have been so over scouts for years.  (Sorry Grandpa Gwilliam.)  They found their old scout shirts hanging in my closet and had to do some modeling for the fam.  Tanner has all sorts of plans ranging from sleeping in a hammock at night (30° weather) to gutting the fish he plans on catching.  I can't wait to hear about their adventures.

Click here to see these two when they were little guys in their Cub Scout uniforms.  Or Click here to see them at the Pinewood Derby back in 2013.  I am pretty sure Parker is wearing the same Scout shirt he had when he was eleven.

Of course, when I actually wanted a picture with them and their huge packs, neither was very cooperative. That's okay.  I love them anyway.  Also, the boys planned on staying up late (3 a.m.) so they could sleep in the car.  That night Tanner was all about snuggling.  He even came into my room and we laughed, talked and snuggled in bed.  The next morning when I got up to see them off, they were both grouchy bears and didn't give me much of a hug goodbye.  That's okay.  I love them anyway.   I hope they have many great adventures and I can't wait to hear all about their experiences in a week.
