Swim Party @ the Vore's

Chris and Ang threw a pool party last Saturday.  Benjamin and Joseph were in town for the week.  Joseph brought his girlfriend Kate , who we were all eager to meet.  The true reason for the pool party: Kate😉

They were actually only going to be in Odessa for a couple of days and then the Vores were heading off to spend the week at a lake.  Parker was bummed when he realized he would miss the big family gathering.   Luckily the camp out ended a day early and he and Tanner made the big event. (The girls were gone though.  Bryn was out of town at a YSA conference and Aubrey had already committed to a friend's b-day party.)

The boys were having so much fun with their cousins that we ended up staying for hours.  Tanner had a whole lot of chicken fights going on in the pool.  Parker hung with Benjamin and then played volleyball.  To wrap up the pool party, Benja, Joseph, Parker, Tanner, Charity and Elliott (Jackson) played basketball.  I think it might be more aptly named wrestling with a ball while occasionally making a basket.  It was intense.

All in all it was a really fun afternoon and evening.  Kate seemed really sweet.  I think she is a keeper if she will keep Joseph.

Benjamin was ordained an Elder.  He will be serving in the Little Rock, Arkansas mission this fall.  The plan was to gather Saturday morning for this special occasion but he missed his plane.  We instead gathered for this event right before the pool party and then headed out to swim.  I love this picture because it has some of the best men I know and love in it.  Left-right: Brian, David King, Chris, Joseph, Adam, John Martin, Adam Bird and Dave Martin with Benja seated.

The Kates!  I asked Kate Martin if I could sit next to Kate Albertelli, Joseph's girlfriend.  I thought it might give me a chance to visit with her a little.  Kate M. did not want to give up her spot... I got the evil eye.😂  Kate A. rearranged the seats so both of us could sit next to her.  Smart.  It was fun learning more about her and her family.  She was also really helpful with my questions about Heritage Halls, class suggestions, and BYU in general.

Chicken fights were huge and went on forever.  Tanner's neck was super sore the next day.  He and Hudson dominated as a team.  Lft-rt: Isaiah,  Holden on Braddock, Hudson and Tanner, and La with her back to the camera.

They are three years apart but have common interests such as football and Fortnite.  They are also the closest male cousins in age to each other.  I liked seeing them back together.
