Working

I was running a sweatshop last week.  I was the one employee.  I kept wondering if the extra time I was spending on Father's Day orders would balance out with what I was earning.  I think the scale tipped in our favor, but I was a busy girl.

It was a great week to be occupied with orders because Aubrey and Tanner were at the lake.  Parker and Brinley are very independent, and I was able to work away without feeling like I was neglecting my motherly duties.

I sold the saws for $7 and the picture frames for $20.  I think I sold about $300-$400 worth which will be nice to add to our family funds.

I really enjoyed making the frames.  I had to increase my Silhouette skills.  I had never done a picture in a letter so everything was new.  One issue I initially had was getting the letters to outline and the print underneath to print out on the paper.  I figured out what I needed to do on my end but then printer problems arose.  Brian and then later, when Bri was at work, my Dad helped me fix the printer.  I learned how to separate the letter to adjust the size of the cutout.  (Releasing the Compound Path.)  The list goes on and honestly, it was nice having a reason to learn new things.
I loved seeing all of the cute families in the pictures that were sent my way.  It was uplifting to see them honoring their husbands and fathers and grandfathers.  They were very appreciative of the finished product too, so that was fulfilling.

Late Thursday night, I was up finishing a couple of orders and cleaning the kitchen a bit.  It was past midnight...so technically it was Friday morning I guess.  Parker was watching an episode of "The Last Dance."  I decided it was okay to close shop and just enjoy a slower pace with my family.  (I think I would be terrible at being a working mom.  I am a wimp.)

On Friday Brinley and I worked out.  Then we came home and watched "Beauty and the Beast."  Then we took naps!  Woot woot!  It was so relaxing and fun, and we both enjoyed hanging out together smack dab in the middle of the day.

Aub and Tanner came home from their week long lake trip that afternoon at 3:00.  Bri's work day ended earlier.  We had a great evening hanging out, hearing lake stories, playing games and just being back together again.
