Back to Reality

We came home from Utah to a clean house which was glorious.  It was fun to be with Parker again.  He is a busy young man though and so we still didn't see him much.  He was willing and wanting to pick us up from the airport on Wednesday afternoon but our arrival time was too close to his evening football practice.  We finally saw him for a few hours that evening and then only a few hours the next day as well.
This picture is from a couple of weeks ago.  Vacation wasn't the same without our Park Park.
It sounded like Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed having him.  He was loving and polite. (Whew😅.)  He also gives the best hugs and is good at sharing about his day which they appreciated.  Parker asked me if we missed him and I gushed, "Definitely!  It wasn't the same without you."  Then I asked him if he missed us and he gave shy smile, looked down and said, "Not really."  Turkey boy.

He went on to say he was sad to miss out on seeing Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam and being with all of the cousins, but he didn't miss us.  He loved the freedom he had when he stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Vore.  Ha ha, there's honesty for you.

I felt we had a successful first full day home on Thursday.  I did a bazillion loads of laundry, went to Sam's Club and Walmart, visited with my parents, and made dinner.  The kiddos unpacked and Tanner and Aubrey also worked on their summer reading projects.  Brian had work.  I also took time to work out and for personal scripture study.  That night I stayed up until 1:00 am working on a b-day poster for Brian.  I was beat.  I looked around at our house that had been soooo clean just 30 hours before, and I turned out the lights and went to bed.
