Gwilliam Family Reunion

August 9, 2019
We headed up to Utah for about 5 days for our Gwilliam reunion.  This year we are meeting up at Bear Lake in Garden City.  There is finally a flight from Odessa to SLC that doesn't take ALL DAY LONG and it is soooooo amazing.  We left at 8 and arrived at 12:20.   Seriously, it's a game changer.

Bri whipped out his selfie stick on the plane.  He didn't pull it out another time this trip.  He just wanted to get a rise out of the kids.  I love that Aubrey isn't even phased.  Tanner and Brinley were across the aisle and just trying to ignore him.  There was a young lady in her 20s behind us cracking up.  He keeps things light hearted in our family.

We had a 30 minute layover on the plane.  Tanner made himself comfortable.

We rented our car from TURO for the first time.  It's kind of like Airbnb but for cars.  They had the van parked in short term parking, and it was so convenient to just roll our luggage out the door and be on our way.  Also, Brinley brought 5 extra suitcases filled with her BYU stuff so I'm really glad we didn't have to shuttle over to a rental car place.

We headed to Ogden to drop off Brinley and Tanner at Lagoon Amusement Park.  Kris and Eric and family were there and invited them to join in the fun.  (Aub declined.  She isn't a huge fan of roller coasters.)  It was really nice to fly in and still have most of the day to be with family.

Bryn, Jack, Macy, Max, Tanner and Henry
Bri, Aub and I dropped them off and headed back down to Draper to hang out at Bruce and Denise's for the afternoon and evening.  We were able to meet our sweet nephew/cousin Tyler and visit with some of the family before our official reunion started the next day.

We got up at 6:30 am on Saturday morning to go to a balloon festival in Draper.  (Aub, Lindsey and Kyle declined.)  I guess the weather wasn't just right because this out of fifteen balloons this was the only balloon that even tried to inflate.  Also, this is as high as it got.  We headed back to the house an hour later and then Denise and I ran errands together to get last minute food supplies from the grocery store.  Bear Lake here we come!
