Being Crafty

I purchased a Silhouette Cameo a few months ago and have been having so much fun.  Luckily my friend Christie, from church, has one and has been a big support.  I think I would have been paralyzed with my ineptness and never gotten started.  I have made several t-shirts, the mugs, and just recently some fun home decor.
Aubrey is wearing a cute shirt I made.  I use the term  "made" very loosely though.  I bought the download (Be Kind) off of Etsy.  Most of my projects come from an idea already on the internet...and then I gather the supplies necessary to make them.
It's hard to tell in this picture but the football is white and the Panthers is in silver.

Here is one I made this week.  I think it is so pretty.  Gotta get ready for twice weekly Permian football games this fall.  I'm trying to decide if I should put both of the boy's numbers on the back or make a different shirt to wear depending on whose game it is.

My brother Nathan purchased a Cricut machine about the same time I bought my Silhouette and it's been fun comparing projects.  He is super creative and has done lots of cool projects. (t-shirts, homemade cards, cool vinyl deigns on his Cricut machine.)  One day a huge, heavy box was delivered to my front door.  It was a heat press for t-shirts....from Nathan!  It was such a surprise and has been a game changer for making shirts.  LOVE IT!  Thank you Nate!
The press.  It makes making t-shirts so much easier.
Last week Hobby Lobby spring merchandise went on sale 90% off.  I am a succor for sales.  I went to Hobby Lobby twice and spent at least 45 minutes both times perusing the clearance.  I just couldn't figure out how I could use any of the items personally or for gifts.  (I had a  BYU professor, Dr. Poduska, who used to say, "An elephant for a quarter is only worth it if you need an elephant and you have a quarter."  It's sound advice that I often need to remember.)   There were a lot of wood signs with corrugated metal but they had sayings on them I knew I didn't want.  Like this one below.

Luckily a video on Instagram popped up that very day of a lady using acetone to remove sayings on these little signs and put her own.  Genius.  I headed right back to Hobby Lobby in both Midland and Odessa and bought about fifteen to use as blanks for vinyl projects.  Kinda wishing now I just bought them all...but back to that saying by Dr. Poduska....

Here are a couple of signs I have made.  I loved personalized gifts and I think they turned out super cute.
For my sweet grand nephew who is still in NICU.
My college roommate's son is getting married.  His fiance designed their beautiful invitations.
Here is the Hobby Lobby decor.
I thought this sign with it's greenery went well with the invitations so I only removed the words.

I've enjoyed being creative and crafty this summer.  Hopefully I can find lots more projects to create!

Erin! You are amazing! I was reading this and thinking how great it all was and how clever you are and then I got to the end! Wow! You kind of made my day! (This comment has a lot of exclamation points in it but they are well deserved!)
